蘋果發表 iPhone 8、iPhone 8 Plus、iPhone X 三款手機，其中 iPhone X 配備 5.8 吋 Super Retina 全螢幕，Home 鍵不見了，螢幕比例更大。機身採玻璃搭配不鏽鋼邊框、具無線充電功能，且防潑、抗水與防塵。另外最受矚目就是 Face ID 臉部辨識功能，可用來解鎖或使用 Apple Pay 行動支付。
iPhone X 螢幕比例更大，取消 Home 鍵，同時也是第一款搭載 OLED 的 iPhone，其 Face ID 臉部辨識功能很吸睛，該機款擁有許多新應用技術，因此所費不貲，256GB 售價新台幣 4.15 萬元、64GB 售價 3.59 萬元，被外界稱為是史上最貴的 iPhone，首波開賣包括台灣，將於 10 月 27 日 15 時 01 分開放預購，11 月 3 日開賣。
蘋果新機發表，股價一度大漲超過 1%，但市場對於技術良率、出貨量產時間遞延，以及價格昂貴都有疑慮，因此盤中由紅翻黑，終場下跌 0.4%。技術良率部分，先前就曾傳出因為新機採窄邊框設計、拿掉 Home 鍵，因此納入 Touch ID 技術，但因為良率不高而被捨棄，如今新機確定採用 Face ID 臉部辨識，但鏡頭與智慧辨識技術仍是關鍵，成為關注焦點。
至於 iPhone X 的 OLED 面板，之前凱基投顧分析師郭明錤指出，可能由南韓三星獨家供應，而日前鴻海郭董大將也曾 PO 文，該機種採異形 OLED，切割工序難度大、良率不高。因此，以往普遍都在 9 月亮相、10 月出貨上市的蘋果 iPhone ，這次則要到 10 月底才能預購，11 月拿到手，外界擔心是不是又是零組件良率有問題，所以才遞延出貨。
就是因為 iPhone X 擁有許多創新應用，因此成本居高不下，售價當然也就轉嫁給消費者，iPhone X 一支要價破 4 萬元新台幣，成為史上最貴 iPhone，果粉是否埋單？有待後續觀察銷售狀況！
